Why the name Barrio? Why in City Terrace? Why Italian?

we have gotten these questions many many times….and the answers are very simple….

first the word Barrio means neighborhood. At Barrio we made it our mission to ensure that our restaurant was a part of the community, a part of the history of City Terrace. As with any community it all beings with the neighborhood that surrounds it.

Why City Terrace? City Terrace is as enchanting and captivating as its hillsides. The richness of its past inhabitants is remarkable and allurin. the Mexican, Ashkenazi Jewish, Japanese, Italian and African-Americans who have historically inhabited it have left their respective mark. When envisioning Barrio, our team dreamt of being at the center of a community on the move, a community with a bright future before it, but with a deeply rooted history. City Terrace is such a community.

Why Italian? For one….because its delicious….but also because we felt that City Terrace would welcome a traditional approach to classic cuisine.

BARRIO……MANGIAMO!!!!
